Senior Product Engineer

About the Company

Fleek is building the infrastructure powering the global secondhand clothing trade through a B2B marketplace and AI systems. Since 2022, we've saved 9 million items from landfill while tripling in size year-on-year, backed by investors including a16z, Y Combinator, and HV Capital.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend systems powering the core marketplace, including discovery, search, checkout, and payments
• Integrate FleekSort's AI classification engine into the marketplace experience
• Architect scalable systems capable of handling millions of items per month
• Contribute to technical direction and engineering standards
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pairing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and AI teams

Requirements

• 3–6 years of professional backend engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in system design, data modelling, and API architecture
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Background in consumer tech, marketplaces, or fintech
• Experience in startup or scale-up environments
• Ability to work with ambiguity and a product-engineering mindset
• Experience building or deploying AI capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with marketplace dynamics such as two-sided platforms and supply-demand matching
• Familiarity with international systems and distributed teams
