Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

Responsibilities

• Evolve Ascent's components, patterns, tokens, interaction standards, and documentation across Klaviyo's product surfaces
• Partner with engineering to improve design-to-code parity and ensure coded components reflect design intent
• Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and duplicated patterns across product teams to create scalable system improvements
• Own the end-to-end design process from conceptualization to discovery and implementation
• Support adoption through guidance, design critiques, spec reviews, workshops, and release communications
• Use AI and automation to accelerate prototyping, documentation, design specs, and accessibility checks

Requirements

• Strong product design experience with a portfolio showing high-quality UX, interaction, and visual design
• Experience building, maintaining, or scaling a design system in a complex organization
• Strong systems thinking and ability to design for reuse across large product surfaces
• Working knowledge of design tokens and accessibility standards like WCAG
• Ability to partner with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to align teams
• AI-first builder mindset using tools like Claude, Cursor, v0, or Figma Make

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Storybook, Git, or design system release workflows
• Experience with complex, data-rich SaaS products
• Expertise in Figma component architecture, variables, styles, and libraries
