Senior Product Design Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead UX strategy across Observe's core surfaces including AI SRE, service maps, log/metric/trace explorers, and dashboards
• Champion AI-native design patterns for SREs and developers via IDE, CLI, chat, and visualization
• Partner with senior PM and engineering leadership to co-architect product and UX strategy
• Manage and grow a diverse, technically fluent design team with a focus on career development and AI up-skilling
• Drive a prototype-first, code-enabled design culture to validate ideas and ship with velocity
• Define interaction models for complex observability workflows like incident investigation and root cause analysis
• Anticipate how AI agents and agentic workflows reshape user intent and human-in-the-loop roles

Requirements

• 8–10+ years designing complex, data-heavy developer or infrastructure products
• Deep familiarity with observability, monitoring, or incident management workflows
• Demonstrated ability to design for AI-native surfaces such as chat interfaces and agent workflows
• Track record of shipping high-quality work using iterative, prototype-driven processes
• Strong systems thinking and ability to define data interaction patterns across multi-surface products
• Experience managing high-performing design teams in fast-moving or startup environments
• Excellent communication skills to align cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Background as an SRE, developer, or platform engineer
• Experience designing MCP-integrated or CLI-adjacent developer tools
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or observability platforms
• Experience contributing code to the product
