Senior Producer

Responsibilities

• Establish editorial priorities and content strategy for major coverage, special projects, and streaming initiatives
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentorship to producers and digital producers
• Participate in daily editorial meetings and pitch deep-dive angles for news stories and long-term enterprise projects
• Develop and maintain sources to provide exclusive content
• Review and edit producer and reporter scripts to ensure accuracy
• Partner with creative teams to develop compelling graphics for investigative and major story coverage
• Lead field production efforts for special projects and enterprise stories
• Produce dynamic content across broadcast and digital platforms, including live stream coverage for breaking news
• Use data analytics to help shape show content and challenge traditional storytelling methods
• Serve as the newsroom lead in the absence of management

Requirements

• 3-5 years of news content experience
• Strong journalistic judgment and a commitment to accurate, fair, and unique local content
• Proven ability to handle live, breaking news situations and changing events calmly
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in social media and maintaining an active news presence on digital platforms
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts as needed
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred

• Experience with ENPS and Edius systems
