Senior Procurement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and finalize technical specifications for major power-generation equipment including steam generators, turbines, and electrical systems
• Develop and issue RFQs/RFPs and manage bidder communications
• Perform detailed technical and commercial bid evaluations and risk identification
• Lead supplier selection recommendations and support contract award packages
• Support commercial negotiations by translating technical scope into cost and risk implications
• Coordinate with suppliers through design development, manufacturing, and factory acceptance testing (FAT)
• Interface with EPC contractors to manage scope boundaries and technical changes
• Ensure equipment compliance with codes and standards such as ASME, IEEE, and ASTM

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
• 10+ years of procurement experience supporting large capital projects
• Experience procuring major engineered equipment like turbomachinery, boilers, or high-voltage electrical equipment
• Strong technical foundation for engagement with OEMs and EPCs
• Experience leading technical bid evaluations and supporting commercial negotiations
• Willingness to travel periodically to supplier facilities and project sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in power generation, energy, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with stage-gated project development (FEL/30-60-90%) and EPC project execution
