About the role

About the Company

Candid is building the AI layer for EPCs. We use AI to reduce the manual effort behind preconstruction engineering by automating document understanding, consistency checks, and repetitive workflow steps across major disciplines. We recently raised $6.5M from top AI and industrial investors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on process engineering on FEL-2 and early-phase delivery work
  • Act as the quality gate for automated software outputs to ensure accuracy
  • Define preconstruction workflows and standards for power and gas-to-power projects
  • Review and validate process deliverables including heat balances, fuel gas systems, and balance of plant
  • Build repeatable checks to catch inconsistencies across key documents and handoffs
  • Map rework drivers and clarify interface points with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines
  • Help define product requirements to automate repetitive engineering tasks

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience at a large-scale EPC, PMC, or owner-operator
  • Direct experience with combined cycle, simple cycle, gas-to-power, LNG, or cogeneration projects
  • Proven ownership of PFD and P&ID development through FEED
  • Expertise in fuel gas systems, balance of plant, and utility systems
  • Proficiency with process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Thermoflow/GT PRO, or GateCycle
  • Solid fundamentals in relief, hydraulics, and equipment sizing
  • Working knowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, and relevant power codes
  • Ability to identify cross-discipline dependencies and inconsistencies across technical documents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a discipline lead or technical authority
  • Experience with data center or behind-the-meter power campuses
  • Expertise in flare system modeling and relief calculation packages
  • Strong interest in AI and automation
