About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable product and process characterizations to support Process Innovation Wet Characterization Facility objectives.
- Technically characterize critical quality attributes of products and ingredients across different scales.
- Model processes and unit operations to ensure scalable operations.
- Conduct tests and measurements to control variables such as temperature, density, pressure, and viscosity.
- Support new product development, product renovation, and ingredient qualification efforts.
- Analyze, design, and improve manufacturing process systems including bulk liquid processing, aseptic processing, CIP, and dry blending.
- Troubleshoot engineering problems with existing processes or equipment and support Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Ensure compliance of process parameters and operational conditions with USDA and FDA regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and build technical competency within the Process Innovation team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, science, or a closely related discipline.
- 5-10 years of engineering experience applying mathematics, statistics, and engineering principles to manufacturing systems.
- Familiarity with liquid aseptic processing and filling within the food industry.
- Expertise with powder processing and wet mixing in the food industry.
- Strong background in statistical analysis and output data interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree.
- Technical background in Food and Beverage or nutritional products.
