Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure system compliance with contractual and program requirements for the AMRAAM® Extended Range 2 program
• Coordinate across hardware, software, test, reliability, and safety disciplines to ensure interface integrity
• Serve as the primary technical resource for system design, performance capabilities, and operational considerations
• Lead platform and System-of-Systems (SoS) integration activities
• Oversee final system verification processes, including Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and System Verification Review (SVR)
• Support customer engagements and provide technical briefings to program and business leadership
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to early-career engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• Minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience
• Enrolled in or certified as a Raytheon Level 4 (or higher) Lead Systems Engineer
• Experience in system development, design, requirements management, and verification
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government security clearance required prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• 12 or more years of relevant work experience including technical leadership roles
• Experience across the full product lifecycle from concept development to production
• Strong technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
