About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test distributed control systems (DCS) hardware and software for the nuclear power industry.
  • Configure computer systems and network architecture for process monitoring and control systems.
  • Lead and manage design engineering teams to meet technical and project requirements on time and within budget.
  • Coach and mentor team members to support career progression and technical capability advancement.
  • Oversee the creation of engineering documents, including reports, drawings, and customer deliverables.
  • Support proposal activities, including market assessments, scope definition, and risk assessment.
  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot system hardware and software requirements.
  • Integrate third-party hardware and software with company-developed solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person due to the nature of the work.
  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with PLC and DCS programming and design.
  • Proficiency with SCADA equipment and interfacing with field devices (thermocouples, RTDs, etc.).
  • Experience with analog and digital electronic circuits.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data acquisition systems, networks, and AC/DC wiring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with equipment layout or panel design for end-user facilities.
  • Knowledge of network configuration, including VLAN planning and switch routing.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Windows operating systems.
  • Programming experience with Microsoft Visual Studio (C/C++/C#).
  • Familiarity with formal software unit testing and hardware/software integration testing.
