Senior Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical architecture for platform software to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
• Lead the design and development of core platform components, system services, and reusable infrastructure frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership across teams to improve performance, diagnosability, and operability of platform software.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and application teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end platform execution.
• Drive resolution of complex system-level issues through deep debugging and root cause analysis.
• Influence the platform roadmap by identifying technical debt and strategic investment opportunities.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads to elevate engineering excellence and best practices.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience building and delivering large-scale platform or systems software.
• Expert-level proficiency in C and C++.
• Extensive experience architecting Linux-based platform software, embedded systems, or network appliances.
• Deep expertise in multithreading, memory management, and inter-process communication.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating system internals.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with networking, packet processing, observability, or security products.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, virtualization, containers, or cloud-integrated platforms.
• Experience driving platform modernization or next-generation architectural transitions.
• Exposure to CI/CD, automation frameworks, and telemetry in a product engineering environment.
