About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical teams in designing, executing, and interpreting complex laboratory experiments for route development, process optimization, and scale-up.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose processes for early- and late-stage programs, ensuring safety, robustness, and scalability.
  • Lead the authorship of patents, scientific publications, and regulatory documents.
  • Apply modern synthetic organic chemistry principles, high-throughput experimentation, and mechanistic insight to accelerate development.
  • Communicate scientific strategy, risks, and solutions to project teams, leadership, and partner functions.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, scientifically rigorous environment.
  • Drive technology transfer and manage partner interactions to enable external development campaigns.

Requirements

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in pharmaceutical process development.
  • Proven expertise in route design, scale-up, and GMP manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of synthetic organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, and modern purification technologies.
  • Demonstrated scientific impact through peer-reviewed publications, patents, or conference presentations.
  • Experience supporting development from preclinical through commercial stages.
  • Experience in regulated environments, including GMP operations and authoring regulatory submissions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Skill in reaction modeling and simulation using computational tools such as DynoChem, gPROMS, or Aspen.
  • Experience developing drug-linkers for ADCs, PROTACS, or other targeted mixed-modality therapeutics.
  • Experience with technology transfer and oversight of external development work.
  • Experience working at innovator pharmaceutical companies.
