Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer - Telemetry Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test printed wiring boards (PWBs) and printed circuit boards (PCBs) for telemetry products.
• Create schematics, optimize layouts using ECAD tools, and conduct modeling and simulations to validate designs.
• Perform benchtop and assembly-level testing at both telemetry and system levels.
• Write comprehensive test plans and reports to document product development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and firmware engineers, to coordinate design efforts.
• Manage procurement processes with fabrication vendors to bring designs to life.
• Support mechanical and environmental testing and troubleshoot hardware issues in the lab.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Five (5) years of directly relevant engineering experience.
• An active DOE L-level security clearance or equivalent to start.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Ability to work 100% onsite at the Livermore, CA facility.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to support the mission.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field.
• Proficiency with tools such as Mentor Graphics/Siemens EDA, Altium Designer, or Hyperlynx.
• Experience debugging circuitry using oscilloscopes, logic/network/spectrum analyzers, and function generators.
• Demonstrated experience in designing electronic Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWA).
• Strong documentation skills within a quality management system.
