Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering systems development for Air Force Reentry Vehicle (RV) warhead designs.
• Conduct trade studies to enable informed architectural decisions and establish robust technical designs.
• Identify driving requirements to inform the development of Stockpile-to-Target Sequences (STS) and Military Characteristics (MCs).
• Define and guide the development of weapons systems architectures, layouts, and subsystem requirements.
• Perform system-level design architecture analysis and develop advanced engineering demonstrators or test units.
• Interface with external partners and stakeholders to define program goals and requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
• Five (5) years of directly relevant experience in electrical engineering or research and development.
• Active DOE Q level security clearance (or equivalent active government security clearance).
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field.
• Proven experience with the development and delivery of components or systems for nuclear weapons.
• Expertise in analog circuit design, RF circuits, or laser and fiber optics.
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as PSpice/LTSpice, Cadence/OrCAD, MATLAB, or Simulink.
• Experience in requirements management, system integration, and test design/implementation.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers.
