Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer - Electromagnetic Systems & Quals

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute R&D projects focused on electromagnetic emissions assessments, testing, and mitigation.
• Perform RF analysis and EMI/EMC testing, implementing shielding, filtering, and grounding countermeasures.
• Utilize RF test instrumentation including spectrum analyzers, test receivers, and oscilloscopes.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting test results, findings, and recommended countermeasures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop secure hardware designs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Mentor junior engineers on electromagnetic emissions security principles and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
• Proficiency in circuit design and RF test instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, signal propagation, and antenna theory.
• Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field.
• Experience with hardware design for secure products and software tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, or SPICE.
• Experience designing and implementing physical countermeasures to mitigate electromagnetic vulnerabilities.
• Strong analytical reasoning and troubleshooting capabilities for complex electromagnetic signal issues.
