About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the manufacturing life cycle for energetic materials, including product definition, graphic drawings, and specifications.
- Oversee explosive material processing and product acceptance activities in a production and development environment.
- Support production qualification of explosive materials and provide input to component design and surveillance.
- Lead problem-solving and improvement activities using design of experiments and method development.
- Perform hands-on laboratory work with explosive materials and hazardous chemicals following rigorous safety practices.
- Prepare and review safety basis documentation, including remote explosive operations.
- Work with external suppliers to procure development or Mark Quality materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Chemical Engineering or related field).
- Five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An active DOE Q clearance, or equivalent active security clearance (e.g., DOD), is required to start.
- Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a highly related field.
- Previous experience in product or process engineering within the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE).
- Hands-on experience handling and working with explosives.
- Experience transitioning products and equipment from conceptual design to full production.
- Demonstrated experience in process development, design of experiments, and setting up remote operations.
- Proficiency with tools such as Prime, PDMLink, ARAS, or EIS.
