Senior/Principal Machine Learning Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of scientific reasoning systems, including model architectures, training strategies, and evaluation methodologies.
• Define and execute approaches to improve model performance on complex scientific tasks, such as long-horizon reasoning and decision-making.
• Translate biological and chemical domain knowledge into machine learning objectives and training signals.
• Architect and improve large-scale distributed machine learning systems to ensure robustness and efficiency.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to transition models from research prototypes to production-ready systems for active discovery programs.
• Mentor junior staff and interns to foster a culture of engineering excellence and rapid experimentation.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience developing and training large-scale machine learning models, specifically regarding LLM reasoning and alignment.
• Strong software engineering skills with experience designing and operating high-performance ML systems.
• Proven publication record in top-tier research venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, or ICML.
• For Senior level: 0–2+ years of industry or post-doc experience focused on deep learning.
• For Principal level: 5+ years of industry or post-PhD experience with a track record of technical leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with molecular modalities, including protein sequences, chemical graphs, and structured molecular data.
• A public portfolio of research or significant contributions to open-source machine learning libraries.
• A strong passion for applying frontier AI technologies to the field of drug discovery.
