Senior Principal Human Factors Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, integration, and oversight of enterprise-level MIL-STD-1472 compliant Human Factors programs
• Serve as the technical authority for Human Factors Engineering (HFE) across complex aerospace and defense programs
• Drive Human Factors strategy across integrated product teams to eliminate hazards and influence system architecture
• Provide expert guidance to program leadership and customers on Human Factors methods, standards, and trade-offs
• Lead Human Factors planning, hazard analyses, and design analyses across multiple programs
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level Human Factors engineers
• Support proposal development, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and strategic capture activities

Requirements

• STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Extensive experience with DoD Human Factors Programs, specifically MIL-STD-1472
• Proven experience developing and executing Human Engineering Program Plans and assessments
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex system design decisions
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active and existing DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
• Advanced experience with digital human modeling and simulation tools
• Expertise in manpower/personnel analysis and Human Performance Modeling (e.g., cognitive workload)
• Experience in Personnel Survivability and/or Habitability analysis
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, and System Safety Working Groups
