Senior/Principal Facilities Technologist - Fire Protection Planner

Responsibilities

• Perform work planning and control activities for fire protection systems to ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Build and publish scheduling models for assigned maintenance teams based on work type and priority.
• Review and detail work orders, including job plans, estimated labor, materials, and hazard evaluations.
• Lead monthly backlog reviews with Maintenance Team Leaders.
• Coordinate planned outages, impairments, and necessary permits.
• Support asset identification management and participate in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies.
• Identify equipment-related ES&H hazards and advise Safety Engineers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma plus three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Practical experience with commercial fire alarms, sprinkler systems, suppression tools, and backflow preventors.
• Experience planning and scheduling maintenance or construction-related activities.
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software, such as Maximo.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
• Ability to work onsite 100% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, specifically 13, 14, 20, and 7.2.
• Completion of a 4-year State approved apprenticeship program.
• Experience reading and understanding technical drawings, schematics, and operations manuals.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Active DOE/DOD Security Clearance.
