About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination and execution of electrical power outages across the Sandia NM site to ensure safety and minimal impact on mission-critical operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, fire protection, security, and planning departments
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed outage procedures and switching memos
- Communicate proactively with building occupants, maintenance teams, and external service providers to maintain mission continuity
- Monitor and track outage progress, addressing issues promptly to maintain schedule and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, site policies, and industry best practices
- Facilitate post-outage reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future planning processes
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to outage planning, approvals, and execution
Requirements
- High school diploma plus three (3) or more years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience coordinating electrical outages and/or maintenance activities in a large, complex facility or industrial environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards, switching procedures, and outage management processes
- Experience working in a mission-critical or high-reliability environment
- Knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage systems
- Experience with outage documentation, such as writing switching memos and post-outage reports
- Familiarity with NNSA, DOE, or other federal government requirements
