Senior Principal Engineer Software

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and document embedded software for the peritoneal dialysis device portfolio.
• Lead software sub-system development, including requirements, code optimization, and risk analysis.
• Transform software requirements into robust architectures and ensure adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to convert product use cases into technical designs.
• Drive research on emerging software architecture techniques and industry trends.
• Define test automation strategies and coordinate software testing activities with external partners.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams across multiple sites.

Requirements

• Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering field.
• 10-15 years of experience in software engineering, including significant technical leadership roles.
• Proven track record in embedded software development within medical devices or highly regulated industries.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly.
• Experience with ARM or AVR processor development and Linux development environments.
• Strong skills in FPGA programming and embedded RTOS development.
• Knowledge of communication protocols including USB, Ethernet, and RS232.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Renal device domain.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC 62304, IEC 62366, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.
• Experience with Intel embedded X86 development.
• Expertise in sensor sampling and developing boot loader code for microcontrollers.
