Senior Principal Engineer – Imaging, Digital Solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and development of next-generation medical image visualization platforms and high-performance rendering systems.
• Define and own architecture for 2D/3D/4D viewers and rendering pipelines across web and device-based platforms.
• Drive technical decisions regarding visualization frameworks such as OpenGL, Vulkan, WebGL, or DirectX.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert in DICOM formats, image data handling, and diagnostic visualization features.
• Lead the design and execution of new products, processes, and prototypes while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Mentor engineers across functions and shape long-term technical strategy aligned with company goals.
• Manage risk documentation, including FMEAs and V&V strategies, to ensure product reliability and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading imaging development and architecture.
• Strong background in medical image analysis (CT/MRI/echo), including 3D data processing and geometric feature extraction.
• Proficiency with scientific and imaging frameworks such as NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch, and VTK.
• Demonstrated success leading architecture for complex, scalable systems in cloud or edge environments.
• Deep understanding of algorithm optimization, numerical stability, and rigorous validation methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting both on-premises and cloud-based imaging solutions with AI/ML integration.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB, and Qt/QML.
• Familiarity with regulated industry standards such as IEC 62304, FDA, or ISO 13485.
• Practical experience with MLOps/LLMOps, including model fine-tuning and data governance.
• Expertise in imaging modalities such as ultrasound, CT, MRI, or X-ray.
