Senior Principal Engineer - Electrical

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and site electrical engineering consultancy for the NEOM Green Hydrogen Plant.
• Oversee electrical systems from construction through pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and operation.
• Lead site electrical engineering activities, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolving complex technical challenges.
• Manage interfaces with EPC contractors, vendors, and OEMs to ensure high-quality execution and timely project delivery.
• Coordinate electrical integration with power generation (solar, wind, BESS) and grid systems, ensuring compliance with the Saudi Grid Code.
• Review technical deliverables such as MV/LV distribution systems, grounding, protection schemes, and system studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit).
• Mentor and develop engineers and designers to promote technical excellence and standardization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 15–20 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading engineers and designers in project execution environments (design through operation).
• Deep expertise in MV/LV systems, grounding, protection coordination, and hazardous area design.
• Strong knowledge of Local Saudi Standards (HCIS, SBC, Saudi National Grid Code) and international codes (IEC/IEEE/NFPA/IS).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working within global EPC/EPCM execution structures.
• Proficiency with electrical analysis tools such as SKM or ETAP.
• Experience with digital engineering and 3D model review tools.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
