About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a Controls Engineering Team of 3-5 members and provide day-to-day engineering support.
  • Provide technical mentorship to engineering staff and maintenance technicians.
  • Drive automation, process optimization, and manufacturing capacity analysis.
  • Lead the design, installation, and start-up of new equipment and systems.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting and implement problem resolution for existing and new equipment.
  • Manage change control activities, NCR/CAPA investigations, and validation protocols.
  • Establish and control capital operating budgets for engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with multi-functional teams to ensure manufacturing regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics preferred).
  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience in a similar role.
  • 8+ years of experience with Rockwell PLC (Allen-Bradley Control Logix, AB500, Safety PLCs).
  • Expertise in servo control systems (Rockwell, Yaskawa).
  • Proficiency in reading and writing electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics (Fanuc, Yaskawa, Staubli) and vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, Profibus, Fieldbus, and HSSB communication.
  • Programming skills in C#, C++, VB, or SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with E-Plan P8 and Category 3 Safety Systems.
