Senior Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the software architecture and system design of highly scalable, distributed, and data-intensive microservices.
• Partner with product teams and leadership to define and execute the strategic technical roadmap.
• Align technical direction with business needs, balancing short-term opportunities with long-term technical vision.
• Champion industry best practices to elevate development standards across the organization.
• Hire, mentor, and build high-performing engineering teams.
• Drive ownership and accountability to ensure consistent delivery of complex systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of experience in complex system design and hands-on development using Java and AWS.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience in a large, distributed organization.
• Hands-on experience with Information Retrieval technologies such as Lucene, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch.
• Deep expertise in Distributed Systems, including scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS architectures with an API-first mindset.
• Knowledge of Vector Databases and ML Infrastructure.
• Proficiency with modern technology stacks, microservices, and stream processing.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify and articulate complex technical problems.
• Experience managing security and compliance challenges within cloud platforms.
• Proven track record of improving the reliability of complex systems at scale.
