Senior/Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer

Responsibilities

• Determine EMI/EMC requirements for systems in development based on customer inputs and intended mission environments
• Develop verification strategies to ensure designs meet defined EMI/EMC requirements
• Troubleshoot EMI issues from the board level to the system level
• Operate a variety of EMI, RF, and electronics test equipment
• Write technical documents, control plans, test procedures, and reports
• Collaborate with project leads, hardware designers, and product realization teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
• Five (5) years of directly relevant experience in electromagnetic compatibility or related fields
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
• Ability to work onsite at least 80% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field
• Experience setting up and executing EMI-EMC tests per MIL-STD-461
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting EMI/EMC events in fast-paced environments with flight hardware
• Knowledge of RF, Digital Communications, Electronic Warfare, and Cyber Security systems
• Experience with TEMPEST testing or fundamental knowledge of ESD and survivability design techniques
• Experience managing work within an EMI test laboratory, including leading others and planning work
