Senior Principal EICA Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for the EICA discipline within the UK water/wastewater treatment design team
• Act as discipline lead or senior technical authority on complex projects from feasibility through commissioning
• Set and maintain discipline design standards, checking requirements, and digital workflows
• Lead and assure complex deliverables, technical decisions, and multidisciplinary interfaces
• Drive integrated coordination between Process, Mechanical, EICA, MEP, and civil/structural disciplines
• Lead senior client engagement, technical workshops, and design reviews
• Build and develop the discipline sub-team through recruitment, mentoring, and professional development
• Support business planning, work winning, and bid strategy for UK water/wastewater capability

Requirements

• BEng/MEng or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status
• 10–12+ years of relevant experience in UK water/wastewater, utilities, or infrastructure design
• Proven track record leading discipline design and technical assurance on complex projects
• Strong understanding of UK regulated water sector, CDM 2015, and safety-by-design
• Deep technical expertise in EICA/Electrical engineering
• Experience in people development, including mentoring and line management
• Strong commercial awareness including scope development and risk management
• Digital mindset with experience in BIM/MEP coordination or automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a discipline lead or technical director within a consultancy or water company
• Strong UK water sector client network
• Experience in digital treatment design, smart assets, or energy/carbon reduction solutions
• Experience leading technical governance or communities of practice
