Senior/Principal Cyber Assurance Architect

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to architect resilient cybersecurity solutions and ensure compliance with NIST/JSIG standards.
• Collaborate with external partners, including the Department of Energy and Intelligence Community, to enable and maintain secure programs.
• Partner with information assurance teams to define and refine system security requirements.
• Analyze sponsor cyber policies and align them with architectural solution designs.
• Identify potential cyber risks and architect effective, resilient alternatives.
• Integrate robust cybersecurity controls into new and existing tools and infrastructures.
• Advise senior leadership with actionable recommendations to influence strategic decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline, plus five years of experience (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience supporting cybersecurity programs within the U.S. Government or government contracting environments.
• Proficiency with continuous monitoring tools such as Splunk, ACAS, Nessus, Security Center, or HBSS.
• Active CISSP certification or the ability to obtain it within 9 months of employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q and SCI security clearances, which may require a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or NIST 800-53 security controls.
• Experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
• System administration experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and networking architecture.
• Familiarity with the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG).
• Active SCI clearance.
