About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate local market trends and identify opportunities regarding billing rates, profitability, and value-based billing
- Assist attorneys with developing pricing proposals for client pitches
- Model matter profitability and provide pricing analytics to support decision-making for firm management
- Research and identify comparable firm matters to provide baselines for new matter budgets
- Design templates and tools to assist attorneys with budgeting processes
- Liaise with the Project Performance Management team to monitor budgets and provide re-pricing recommendations
- Conduct periodic audits of the Firm’s rates and special fee arrangements database
- Create analyses and design reports or presentations to showcase pricing trends
- Analyze client performance data to identify pricing opportunities and perform ad hoc analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, law, finance, accounting, or project management
- At least 3 years of financial, procurement, or pricing experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation)
- Strong understanding of legal pricing and profitability drivers
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with senior management and attorneys
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a large law firm
- Experience with financial management systems such as Elite 3E or Aderant
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms
- Experience with Power Query or VBA
