About the role

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate local market trends and identify opportunities regarding billing rates, profitability, and value-based billing
  • Assist attorneys with developing pricing proposals for client pitches
  • Model matter profitability and provide pricing analytics to support decision-making for firm management
  • Research and identify comparable firm matters to provide baselines for new matter budgets
  • Design templates and tools to assist attorneys with budgeting processes
  • Liaise with the Project Performance Management team to monitor budgets and provide re-pricing recommendations
  • Conduct periodic audits of the Firm’s rates and special fee arrangements database
  • Create analyses and design reports or presentations to showcase pricing trends
  • Analyze client performance data to identify pricing opportunities and perform ad hoc analyses

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, law, finance, accounting, or project management
  • At least 3 years of financial, procurement, or pricing experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation)
  • Strong understanding of legal pricing and profitability drivers
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with senior management and attorneys

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large law firm
  • Experience with financial management systems such as Elite 3E or Aderant
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms
  • Experience with Power Query or VBA
