Senior Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of care and support to young people in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment
• Provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to the shift team and practitioners
• Manage shift planning, staff deployment, and house management
• Oversee incident management, recording, and reporting in accordance with Behaviour Management Policies
• Coordinate transition planning, risk assessments, and placement planning for young people
• Ensure high standards of care, education, and welfare in line with legislative and regulatory requirements
• Monitor medicine administration and storage systems
• Promote collaborative working with families, multidisciplinary teams, and outside agencies
• Maintain the fabric, furnishings, and security standards of the House

Requirements

• HNC & SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children & Young People) or higher
• SSSC registration
• CALM Accreditation
• 3 years of experience in a relevant care-related environment
• Knowledge of Child Protection, Safeguarding, and Health & Social Care legislation
• Full Clean Driving Licence
• Experience in multidisciplinary working to promote positive outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

• SVQ Level 4 Social Services (Children & Young People)
• Supervisory qualification
• Experience in a secure or residential setting
• Experience in team leading or supervisory roles
• Knowledge of The Promise and Trauma Informed Practice
