Senior Power Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain microgrids at Starbase, TX
• Lead infrastructure upgrades to scale systems for Starship production
• Create and maintain sitewide power budgets, monitoring, and metering
• Perform detailed design on electrical power systems including one-lines, three-lines, and control/relaying schematics
• Develop and implement protective relay settings and schemes for high voltage equipment
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, NESC, and IEEE standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience in power systems design, analysis, and build
• Focus on high-power, high-voltage systems
• Ability to perform hands-on work in various environments and at heights
• Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or eligible under ITAR

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in a similar role
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Experience with power systems analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or Matlab
• Familiarity with industrial power systems up to 345 kV
• Experience with CAD software like Revit or AutoCAD
• Knowledge of industrial communications protocols like Modbus or DNP3
