About the role
About the Company
Endurance is building the world's first modular subsea geothermal power plants, converting vast thermal resources under the ocean into gigawatts of baseload power. Backed by Founders Fund, Felicis, First Round Capital, and Point72 Ventures, our founding team includes veterans from SpaceX, Helion, and Robinhood.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design subsea power conversion and distribution systems from generator interface through export and load integration
- Select and justify converter topologies for AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC systems
- Design high-power PCBAs including schematic capture, magnetics design, gate drive architecture, and protection circuitry
- Own PCB layout review with attention to high di/dt loops, parasitic inductance, EMI containment, and thermal paths
- Mechanically collaborate on packaging, heat rejection, and pressure-tolerant enclosures
- Define and implement system-level protection philosophy including overcurrent, overvoltage, and ground fault detection
- Lead board bring-up, lab validation, and full-load testing including efficiency and EMI testing
- Drive root cause investigations for converter instability, switching noise, and field failures
- Establish electrical design standards and reliability practices for subsea energy infrastructure
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience designing and shipping power electronics hardware in high-reliability environments
- Demonstrated experience architecting complete power systems
- Deep understanding of power conversion fundamentals, topology tradeoffs, and magnetics design
- Proven experience designing high-power PCBAs and isolation strategies
- Strong working knowledge of grounding, shielding, EMI mitigation, and creepage/clearance requirements
- Hands-on lab experience bringing up high-power hardware and debugging instability
- Experience with high-voltage systems or DC buses preferred
- High ownership mentality and ability to work cross-functionally with mechanical and controls teams
Benefits
- Global Fieldwork: Travel to deployment sites in locations like the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, and the Azores
- Hands-on Experience: Participate in sea trials and deployment operations
- Competitive Compensation: Comprehensive salary and equity packages
- Benefits: Vision, Dental, and Health insurance coverage
