Senior Policy or Policy Counsel, Voting Rights

Responsibilities

• Advance voting rights policies to achieve a multiracial democracy through advocacy and legislative analysis
• Build and maintain relationships with members of Congress, staff, and federal administration officials
• Draft advocacy plans, model policies, legislative proposals, testimony, and policy recommendations
• Analyze federal legislation and administrative rules to provide recommendations to stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal legal, communications, and research teams and external coalition partners
• Organize briefings and facilitate the presentation of testimony before Congressional committees
• Train and mentor policy staff, interns, and externs

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
• For Policy Counsel: At least 5 years of experience in public policy with voting rights expertise
• For Senior Policy Counsel: At least 10 years of experience in public policy with voting rights expertise
• Proven track record in developing policy solutions and legislative advocacy
• Ability to work across the political and ideological spectrum
