Senior Policy Analyst

Responsibilities

• Conduct fiscal and economic impact analyses for real estate development, tax incentives, and policy changes
• Complete cost-benefit analyses for societal impacts and transportation infrastructure projects
• Produce industry sizing, demographic, and labor market analysis to support priority industries
• Identify research topics for thought leadership and present findings to stakeholders
• Review complex spreadsheets and written materials for data accuracy
• Collaborate in interdepartmental working groups and respond to data requests from City Hall
• Monitor external economic trends and maintain departmental data sources and modeling methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Proficiency in R for data analysis
• Experience with database and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience in large datasets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• NYC residency required within 180 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with REMI, IMPLAN, or RIMS II
• Experience with fiscal impact, economic impact, or cost-benefit analysis
• Ability to develop creative solutions for complex modeling projects
