Senior Platforms Engineer - Edge

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development, and lifecycle management of scalable LoRaWAN and industrial IoT platforms across edge, network, and cloud environments.
• Design and improve telemetry ingestion, device management, fleet operations, and edge-to-cloud data pipelines.
• Establish platform standards for reliability, observability, security, and maintainability across distributed field systems.
• Drive secure device provisioning, OTA update strategies, and remote operations practices for large-scale deployments.
• Partner with firmware, RF, hardware, cloud, and operations teams to resolve complex integration challenges and improve system performance.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams through technical leadership and architecture governance.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance platform resource utilization and system uptime.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant platforms engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with LoRaWAN architecture, gateways, network servers, and device provisioning.
• Experience with telemetry ingestion, event-driven systems, and MQTT or similar messaging patterns.
• Proven experience building and operating scalable Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms in production environments.
• Strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and edge-to-cloud integration.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, CAN bus, or PLC-integrated systems.
• Experience designing secure remote device management and OTA update workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale industrial deployments in energy, utilities, or manufacturing sectors.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, and time-series data platforms.
• Experience with cloud IoT services such as AWS IoT or Azure IoT.
• Proficiency with Python and JSON-based automation and integration.
• Knowledge of low-power edge constraints and offline-first system design.
