Senior Platform Engineer

About the Company

Matic is on a mission to revolutionize home robotics by building a floor cleaning robot that uses spatial AI and real-time 3D mapping. Our robots are private by design, performing all data processing on-device rather than in the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Develop core device systems software and functionality from the ground up
• Build a robust software stack that interacts with firmware, motors, sensors, and other software agents
• Work with EE and software teams to ensure feature feasibility and functionality
• Perform root cause analysis of system crashes and hardware failures
• Identify bugs and bottlenecks to improve system performance
• Develop and debug pipelines for data from cameras and other sensors

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience
• Strong familiarity with userspace Linux programming and conventions
• Working knowledge of Linux kernel internals
• Deep experience in multi-threaded C
• Familiarity with systems scripting languages like Shell or Python
• Knowledge of common communication protocols (USB, RS232, TCP/IP/HTTP)
• High level of maturity, ownership, and pride in work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C or C++ microcontroller firmware
• Eagerness to learn Rust
