About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the delivery of piping design and drafting services for nuclear projects
- Manage assigned piping design scope, including schedules, deliverables, and staffing plans
- Ensure all designs comply with nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME Section III, B31.1)
- Apply nuclear quality assurance requirements, including NQA-1, to all design activities
- Use 3D modeling and review tools such as PDMS, E3D, and Navisworks to track progress and quality
- Conduct field walkdowns to verify P&IDs, collect measurements, and identify tie-in points
- Integrate field data and laser scan data into 3D models to support brownfield project constraints
- Coordinate piping design activities with engineering, QA/QC, and other multi-disciplinary teams
- Review deliverables prior to Issued for Construction (IFC) to ensure accuracy and traceability
Requirements
- 10+ years of piping design experience, including experience in a senior or lead role
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Advanced expertise in PDMS/E3D modeling and drafting
- Proven experience in nuclear facilities or highly regulated engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section III and B31.1 codes
- Experience working within nuclear quality assurance programs (NQA-1)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)
- Ability to work onsite in Charleston, West Virginia
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Navisworks, SharePoint, and laser scanning tools
- Familiarity with P&ID Management of Change (MOC) processes
