Senior PIC Engineer

About the Company

PsiQuantum's mission is to build the first useful quantum computers—machines capable of delivering the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Our architecture is based on silicon photonics, leveraging advanced semiconductor manufacturing to build million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems.

Responsibilities

• Interact with device, hardware, and system design teams to assist in overall development of Photonics and Quantum Optics systems
• Support foundry tape outs with photonic device design, design of experiments, layout, design verification, PDK development, and software development
• Develop comprehensive documentation for tapeouts
• Provide multi-disciplinary support to component and systems teams by resolving technical issues
• Apply quantitative analysis to determine root cause of technical problems and implement corrective actions

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science
• 5+ years of relevant work or academic research experience in integrated photonics
• Proficiency in Python for numerical analysis, data manipulation, and photonic circuit layout
• Experience with silicon photonic manufacturing processes and foundry tapeouts
• Extensive experience with simulation platforms, particularly Lumerical
• Strong fundamentals in electro-magnetic theory, statistical analysis, and quantum mechanics
• Experience with collaborative coding environments such as git
