Senior Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Identify best methods for retrieving blood and preparing specimens for laboratory testing
• Obtain blood specimens via venipunctures and finger sticks
• Verify patient identification and test requisitions
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and following isolation procedures
• Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting collection times
• Resolve unusual test orders by contacting physicians, pathologists, or nursing stations
• Manage logistical tasks including printing patient reports and scheduling courier pickups
• Handle billing questions and triage patient follow-ups

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy Certificate if required by State
• Ability to work in Wakefield location 3 days per week and Clayton location 2 days per week

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/BA degree
