Senior Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Identify best methods for retrieving blood and preparing specimens for laboratory testing
• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens
• Verify patient identity and test requisitions to ensure accuracy
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and following isolation procedures
• Track collected specimens by noting collection times and maintaining daily tallies
• Resolve unusual test orders by contacting physicians, pathologists, or nursing stations
• Manage logistical tasks including printing patient reports and scheduling courier pickups
• Handle billing inquiries and follow up with patients

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy Certificate if required by State
• Ability to work onsite Monday - Friday in Livonia, MI
