Senior Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens via venipunctures and finger sticks
• Verify test requisitions and patient identification
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and isolation procedures
• Track collected specimens and maintain daily collection tallies
• Resolve unusual test orders by contacting physicians or nursing stations
• Manage logistical tasks including printing patient reports and scheduling courier pickups
• Handle billing inquiries and follow-up with patients
• Comply with HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy Certificate if required by State
• Ability to work in an office setting wearing scrubs

Preferred Qualifications

• BS/BA degree
