Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain environmental permit configurations current with design changes resulting from commissioning activities
- Provide air, water, and waste permitting support to engineering teams for design changes and issue resolution
- Interface with project organizations regarding environmental permit requirements for facility design and operation
- Provide technical implementation guidance and field support to Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) organizations
- Facilitate and participate in regulatory agency, Department of Energy (DOE), and company inspections or audits
- Lead a staff of permitting specialists to ensure regulatory compliance
- Perform environmental permitting self-assessments as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Science, or equivalent
- 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 7 years of experience with a Master's degree
- Superior knowledge of air, water, and hazardous waste environmental regulations and monitoring techniques
- Experience working with government agencies, preferably the US Department of Energy or Washington State Department of Ecology
- Proven ability to resolve environmental permit issues within an operational plant environment
- Ability to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford Site
