Senior Performance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify scope and design comprehensive performance test strategies, plans, and execution models.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, DBA, and Product teams to define and validate non-functional requirements (SLOs, SLIs, and CUJs).
• Perform database load testing for performance, reliability, and scalability, identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Integrate performance tests into the deployment pipeline to enable continuous integration and evaluation.
• Analyze technology environments and production defects to detect deficiencies and recommend performance improvements.
• Communicate performance trends and risks to senior management through regular dashboards and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6 years of IT work experience in application development, technical performance testing, or engineering.
• Proven experience designing and executing performance tests for B2B Payments platforms (Web, APIs, Microservices, and Databases).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, or Prometheus.
• Strong expertise in MS SQL and PostgreSQL database internals.
• Proficiency with DevOps toolchains (AzureDevOps, GCP) and CI/CD models using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Terraform.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling, JMeter, Locust, or Sitespeed.io.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in cloud environments and with microservices architectures.
• Experience leveraging AI technologies (e.g., Claude, Vertex AI) to improve engineering productivity.
