About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line People & Culture (P&C) support and counsel to employees and leaders regarding policies and procedures
- Lead and partner on strategic initiatives and projects that enhance the employee experience
- Coach people leaders on performance management, career development, recruitment, and succession planning
- Advise on involuntary separation requests to ensure legal compliance and alignment with company culture
- Support accommodation request cases in partnership with the benefits team
- Conduct exit interviews and monitor employee engagement to provide actionable recommendations for improvement
- Support workforce planning, job leveling, and compensation preparation for hiring managers
- Partner with Employee Relations to lead investigations regarding violations of company standards of conduct
- Facilitate training for business units on P&C programs such as annual performance reviews and compensation cycles
Requirements
- 5-7 years of progressive generalist or similar relatable experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or partnering to drive strategic people initiatives
- Deep understanding of Federal, State, and Provincial Labor Law and employment equity regulations
- Strong conflict management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Proven decision-making skills with expertise in employee relations and people management
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks autonomously
