About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design schematics, custom footprints, component placement, and signal routing for complex multilayer PCBAs
  • Define PCB layer stack-ups and via strategies including HDI to optimize performance
  • Lead engineering design reviews and resolve Design Rule Check (DRC) issues
  • Perform BOM scrubbing and review designs for manufacturability (DFM)
  • Prepare fabrication and assembly packages including Gerber/ODB++ files and manufacturing drawings
  • Liaise with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors regarding builds and procurement
  • Maintain design files and documentation within the PLM system
  • Partner with test engineers during board bring-up and troubleshooting in a laboratory setting

Requirements

  • Technical degree, relevant certification, or equivalent hands-on industry/military experience
  • 6+ years of professional PCB layout experience
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident, or refugee/asylee status for export control compliance
  • Proficiency with modern PCB design tools, preferably Altium Designer
  • Experience with high-density (HDI) layouts and multilayer boards
  • Strong understanding of grounding strategies and power routing
  • Deep knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and manufacturing documentation
  • Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and electronic test equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with controlled impedance and differential pair routing
  • Background in mixed-signal or low-noise analog circuit design
  • IPC certifications related to electronics or PCB design
  • Experience with RoHS, CE, EMI/EMC, or UL compliance
