Senior Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and shift-based employees with high accuracy
• Perform employee-level validation of timecards, earnings, deductions, and taxes
• Manage multi-state tax registrations, accounts, and rate updates to ensure compliance
• Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, and HSA/FSA enrollments
• Coordinate leaves of absence (FMLA, MN PFML, disability) in partnership with external vendors
• Reconcile benefits data across systems and carriers to ensure accurate payroll deductions
• Manage time and attendance processes, ensuring accurate application of overtime and pay policies
• Deliver accurate payroll reports and maintain organized, audit-ready documentation

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing
• Proven experience with benefit audits, payroll deductions, and 401(k) administration
• Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and registrations
• Advanced Excel skills for performing audits, reconciliations, and data validation
• Experience working with modern HRIS/payroll systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting payroll in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
• Experience using Rippling or similar modern HRIS platforms

• Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 annually
