Senior Payroll Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Run payroll cycles according to the established schedule and resolve out-of-balance conditions.
• Input and verify payroll data accuracy through meticulous balancing and comparison.
• Assist the Payroll Manager with General Ledger reconciliation and the preparation of journal entries.
• Perform testing, setup, and maintenance for earning codes, deduction codes, and system imports.
• Manage the garnishment process with the payroll provider and communicate with employees as needed.
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all payroll processing functions.
• Handle tax registrations and assist with year-end and year-begin processes.

Requirements

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of directly related payroll experience.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately balance payroll items and reconcile accounts.
• Working knowledge of payroll practices, procedures, and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Payroll/HRIS systems, including report writing capabilities.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes.
