Senior Payroll & Compensation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Process payroll inputs, including variable elements, absences, and employee changes.
• Perform payroll controls, reconciliations, and handle related accounting entries.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll and HR processes through automation and standardization.
• Manage and calculate ad hoc compensation elements such as bonuses, incentives, and equity plans.
• Contribute to salary benchmarking, market analysis, and the maintenance of salary grids.
• Monitor payroll and compensation budgets in collaboration with the Finance department.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards regarding headcount and payroll costs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in payroll, ideally in an international or fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss payroll, Swiss labor laws, and regulations.
• Proven experience working with payroll systems and HRIS.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll-related financial processes.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and external providers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct exposure to Compensation & Benefits topics, including benchmarking and bonus schemes.
• Experience driving automation initiatives within HR or payroll workflows.
