Senior Payments Engineer - Cards Acquiring

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end technical delivery for card platforms, including requirement analysis, systems design, and third-party vendor integrations.
• Lead technical execution for card lifecycle initiatives such as payment processing, clearing, settlement, and chargeback workflows.
• Design and maintain robust components for the Cards Acquiring ecosystem, merchant processing frameworks, and payment gateways.
• Oversee system integrations with global card schemes like Visa and Mastercard, ensuring compliance with financial standards.
• Provide technical oversight during SIT and UAT, resolving critical engineering defects.
• Act as a Tier-3 escalation point for production support, driving incident management and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Cards Issuing or Cards Acquiring platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with merchant processing, payment gateways, and clearing/settlement protocols.
• Deep understanding of financial messaging standards such as ISO 8583 or AS2805.
• Strong database skills, specifically with SQL or Oracle.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance and security frameworks within the payment industry.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum software delivery environments.
