Senior Payload Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the Responsible Engineer on COSP/SRP projects related to Payloads for Out-of-Production (OoP) aircraft
• Organize design reviews with SMEs and prepare technical presentations for executive review boards
• Create design solutions for Safety Related Problems (SRPs) and interface with suppliers for development and testing
• Develop, maintain, and modify interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools
• Support BGS Spares, Service Engineering, and Production Engineering changes
• Provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Aerospace, or Material Sciences)
• 5+ years of experience with commercial aircraft programs
• 5+ years of experience with payloads engineering (e.g., Cabin, Cockpit, and Cargo)
• 9+ years of experience in designing structural or interior payload systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in payload design within the aerospace industry as a Subject Matter Expert
• 5+ years of experience using CATIA v5 and ENOVIA
• Experience leading engineering teams with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical quality
• Experience developing and mentoring other engineers
• Experience reviewing or approving Service Bulletins
• Experience creating standardized documentation and processes
