Senior Pavement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design input for highways pavement renewal schemes on the M25 network
• Lead and direct design outcomes from briefing through detailed design and construction support
• Prepare designs, reports, specifications, and contract documentation
• Review deliverables, traffic management plans, diversion routes, and temporary traffic regulation orders
• Coordinate with asset, project management, consultants, contractors, and statutory bodies
• Support gateway reviews, site surveys, sustainability, and continual improvement

Requirements

• Experience in highway engineering and pavement design
• Knowledge of DMRB, MCDHW, TSRGD, CDM, and H&S legislation
• Relevant civil engineering qualification
• Membership of ICE or CIHT
• IEng or CEng registration, or eligibility within 12 months
• UK driving licence
• Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Pavement Engineer Certificate from the Institute of Asphalt Technology
• Asset management experience
• Knowledge of traffic signs manual Chapter 8
• CSCS card registration
• Proficiency with civil engineering design software and Microsoft Office
